The Department of Art in the School Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Lynchburg is accepting applications for a full-time, two-year appointment (non-tenure track) in Painting/Drawing and 2-D Design to begin in the Fall of 2021. We seek an energetic colleague with a strong professional record and the ability to teach across the curriculum in areas of design fundamentals, painting, drawing, and printmaking.
A Master’s of Fine Arts (MFA) or higher in Painting, Drawing, or related field is required. Selected candidate must show a clear demonstration of artistic achievement, as evidenced by a current record of exhibitions. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred. The selected candidate will teach courses that utilize the technique and range from traditional and foundation courses to new media digital experiences such as installation base works. All candidates must be fluent in technology including knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software. Exceptional technical and fabrication skills are necessary, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of equipment and material safety issues.
All candidates should have an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
