The University of Lynchburg invites applications for an Assistant Professor/Instructor in American Sign Language for a two-year Regular Part-time (RPT) appointment to begin August 2021. The successful candidate will have evidence of excellence in liberal arts teaching and the desire to take a significant role in helping the University build the ASL program. Candidates must have a master’s degree in the field of American Sign Language & Interpreter Education (ASL&IE), or a Master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the discipline, and possess demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and the ability to work with a diverse student body. ASLTA certification, Advanced or Superior Level on SLPI:ASL or similar proficiency assessment is preferred; a background in early/elementary education is desirable. The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 load.
